Walking tour highlights Māori history and culture

Koru Enterprises has created a very special "Napier Cultural Walking Tour", which takes manuhiri (visitors) on an authentic inner city Napier tour, with local mana whenua guides. The tour includes Māori history dating back over 600 years up to the present time. The tour also takes visitors to three buildings which have Māori art and culture, as well as a visit to MTG Hawke’s Bay.

“Off the back of this, we have also created an internship programme, "Manaaki Manuhiri", aimed at rangatahi from age 16-29 years, to equip them into the Māori tour guide industry,” says Koru Enterprises owner Louise Cuthbert.

“The training internship will help to employ our young Māori students into local tourism ventures.”

Bookings for the tour can be made here.
