NCF Church ensures the isolated are not forgotten

NCF Church Pastors Gareth and Vicky Roberts

NCF Church, based in Taradale, hasn’t let the lockdown hold them up. Church members stayed connected with Sunday services live streaming every week, along with small group meetings throughout the week on platforms such as Zoom.

The congregation sprang into action to ensure its isolated and elderly members were well looked after.

“We had a team of people making regular phone contact with this group to make sure they had some social interaction for their emotional wellbeing,” says NCF Church Pastor Gareth Roberts.

“We also delivered care packages along with regular grocery deliveries for those with no family support readily available.”

Emergency food parcels and grocery vouchers were also given to those in need, and a morning tea was provided at a local pharmacy to encourage staff working on the front line.
