Recovery Fund helps with central city vibrancy

Napier City Scenes March 2017 19

Napier City Council’s Recovery Projects Fund supports projects that will increase Napier’s resilience to the economic impacts of COVID-19.

Napier City Business Inc. (NCBI) successfully applied for funding to create a marketing video to promote Napier’s CBD retail stores and eateries and help keep the city centre vibrant and alive.

Napier City Business Inc. Manager Pip Thompson says “Our business owners all have very small or no marketing budgets and cannot afford to all produce a video of their own, so our intention is to create a marketing video that supports shopping in the Napier CBD. We want to ensure that the Napier CBD survives and thrives through the impact of COVID-19.”

NCBI also received money from the Recovery Fund to help with its Buy Local, Win Local promotion that ran in Napier CBD during June, July and August.

“It is our supporting role that helps keep the streets busy with people shopping in their retail stores, doing business in Napier CBD and eating and socializing within local bars and restaurants,” says Pip.
