New cyclist and pedestrian pathway

Parklands Website Cycling July 2020 5 Portrait

The Cross Country Drain Pathway, named after the drain it runs alongside, will be a limestone pathway that will run from the corner of Ulyatt Road & Harold Holt Avenue along the outskirts of Pirimai and through farmland for 4km to Te Awa Avenue, next to the Maraenui Golf Club. An offshoot of the path will also run along the Tannery Stream to connect with an existing pathway on Harold Holt Ave.

Construction begins 1 September and is expected to be finished by the end of October.

This is the first of a series of Napier projects funded by central Government’s $100 million Worker Redeployment Package, to be used to provide training and employment for three to six months for people who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19.
